Happy New Year, Lymphies!
Last year was transformational in more ways than I can count. My husband and I sold almost everything we owned, packed up, and hit the road Jan 1, 2025. Eleven U.S. states, two Canadian provinces, and two regions of Mexico later, we somehow found ourselves living in Southern Baja — and running the Lymphatic business from thousands of miles away. It was exhilarating and humbling all at once. I worked harder and played harder than I thought possible. I hiked the most stunning and difficult trail of my life, made new friends, reconnected with old ones, and checked off a few bucket list adventures. Somewhere in the middle of all of that, I found myself happier, healthier, and more grounded than I’d been in years. For the first time in a long while, I had real space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect not only with my own body, but with the work I love so deeply. I received lymphatic treatments all over the country, learned new perspectives, and rediscovered why I fell in love with the lymphatic system in the first place.
At the same time, something beautiful was happening back home.
The practice had found its rhythm. We have a dream team of dedicated therapists, Liz keeps everything running smoothly as our Client Care Coordinator, our systems are strong, and our client community is loyal and engaged. For the first time in years, the business felt less like pushing uphill and more like flowing. But if I’m honest, there was one area where we were truly behind — our online presence. Our website no longer reflected who we are or what we offer. I wanted our digital home to feel the way our clinic feels: warm, calming, and deeply connected to nature. I wanted someone who had never heard of the lymphatic system to land on our site and immediately understand what it is, why it matters, and how lymphatic drainage can support overall health and wellness. That meant it was time for a facelift — not just visually, but conceptually — and that decision sent me straight back to nature for inspiration.
During my time in Baja, I began taking freediving classes. Most of freediving isn’t diving at all — it’s floating, breathing, waiting, and letting go. One afternoon, I was face-down in the sea, staring into what felt like endless blue, allowing the current to move me wherever it wished. There was no effort and no direction, just the sensation of being held. Then something shifted. I melted into the ocean and felt completely at ONE with the water, the planet, the sky — everything. It was Flow in its purest form. On land, everything feels separate: my desk, my teacup, my computer, each with clear edges and boundaries. But in the water, that separation dissolves. The ocean doesn’t just surround you, it holds you and moves you, and you stop being something in the system and start remembering that you are part of the system itself. Floating there, it became suddenly and beautifully clear: our bodies are oceans too. We have tides and rhythms, we swell and recede, and we respond to breath, movement, and pressure.
The lymphatic system behaves exactly like water. It moves in gentle waves, responding to softness, space, and ease. When resistance lowers, flow returns.
Once I saw this, I started noticing the same pattern everywhere. Nature isn’t chaotic, and it isn’t decorative simply to be beautiful, though it certainly is. Nature is organized and follows simple physical rules, and from those rules, elegant systems emerge. One of the most fundamental is that fluid always moves toward lower pressure. Over time, small channels widen, efficient pathways strengthen, and flow organizes itself naturally. You can see this in the veins of a leaf, where tiny vessels branch outward and collect inward, feeding larger veins. You see it in tree roots spreading fine hairs to gather nutrients and funnel them back toward thicker roots. You see it in rivers merging from streams to creeks to wide channels that empty into the sea. Even lightning branches through the air along paths of least resistance, forming unmistakable tree-like shapes. And then there is the lymphatic system, beginning with tiny vessels in the tissues, collecting fluid and waste, feeding into larger channels, and draining toward major lymphatic trunks, always guided by pressure gradients and resistance.
This isn’t a metaphor — it’s a mirror!
This Realization Became the Heart of our New Branding.
The leaves throughout our website are not decoration. They’re visual reminders of the branching flow pattern shared by plants, rivers, and the lymphatic system itself. The organic textures and subtle graphics are quiet cues saying, “This is how your body works.” When you see leaves and branching lines in our digital space, they’re gentle reminders that your body already knows how to flow. Our work is simply to clear the pathways, lower resistance, and support the system in doing what it was designed to do.
As all of this unfolded, our work began expanding in new directions.
We’re no longer just a clinic. We’re growing into new cities, creating an educational presence, a storytelling space, a professional training hub, and a broader community for clients, therapists, and practitioners who believe in raising the standard of lymphatic care together. Because of that evolution, you’ll start seeing a new name in our online world: Lymphatic Collective. Austin Lymphatic remains our clinical home, while Lymphatic Collective represents the larger ecosystem growing around it. In the coming months, we’ll be rolling out a more active social media presence (@lymphaticcollective), educational content about the lymphatic system, behind-the-scenes clinic life, announcements for upcoming Integrative Lymphatic Therapy training programs, and yes, a new location in Houston.
It’s all part of the same natural growth pattern — small channels becoming larger ones — expanding reach while staying rooted in the same core philosophy.
So here we are: a refreshed website, a new visual language, a deeper connection to nature’s design, and a growing collective shaping the future of lymphatic care. Thank you for being part of this journey, whether you’ve been with us for years or just found us recently. I’m more excited than ever about what’s ahead, and I’m so grateful we get to grow it together.
With so much Love & Gratitude,
