How Lymphatic Drainage Benefits Revitalized My Health and Well-being. This summer has brought about some significant changes.
I hope this summer is treating you well. If you remember, last month, I told you that I was starting a round of Lymphatic Drainage sessions here at the clinic and that I’d report back on my findings. Fair warning, this might get a little personal.
Truth be told, I was slippin’. I realized I hadn’t been on the table for a lymph session in WAY too long and I was starting to feel and see it. I was tired all the time (I blamed it on the heat), my lower legs were swelling (I blamed it on me just turning 40), cellulite on my legs had returned, the brain fog was so real, my boobs were sore, my cycles were consistent but light and oddly painful, and worst of all, my headaches were coming back. I could tell I wasn’t operating as well as I should. What’s embarrassing about it is that I have no excuse. The best lymph practitioners are at my fingertips. I just had to make the time.
I decided to come in for a solid series of lymph sessions because I swear by this. It’s done me right for so long and I know I just got off track with it.
I had my first session with Kate at our 360 location. You guys, it was sooooooo good and just what I needed. The first thing I noticed was the swelling in my legs that had been lingering went away. This was a new symptom for me that I had noticed in the last few months. We generally experience more swelling in the summer months.
Heat expands our vascular system and more fluid seeps into the tissue space. This makes it harder for your lymphatic system to keep up. In addition, as we get older, our blood and lymph vessels tend to become less taught, allowing for more fluid to sit in the tissue space. True story: the day I turned 30, I noticed cellulite for the first time. The day I turned 40, fluid started accumulating in my lower legs.
My session with Kate was wonderful. She even picked up on things I hadn’t noticed and focused on the build-up and inflammation around my joints. Of course, I drank plenty of water and I felt amazing the next day.
But I knew I needed to continue and hit it hard again quickly if we were going to maintain this progress.
As it turns out, the very next day a woman who had just taken my 3-day training in Dallas wanted to come do a trade with me. I was thrilled at the opportunity to have a new student give me a session and see how well it resonated with her.
She did a fabulous job!! I was so proud and felt a lot of movement in our session. I think that Kate had unlocked a lot of things the day before and it made my body very receptive to the work. I felt a little slow and sluggish that evening and slept for 10 hours! The next day I could tell my skin seemed brighter and my eyes didn’t have the same “heavy” look or feeling.
Two days later I went to see Carlin at our 360 location. She focused mostly on my abdomen and legs. This is a lot of work in one week but it felt so good! Usually when I get on Carlin’s table we do Ashiatsu (back walking) because of my neck issues, and I had forgotten what a treat it was to receive lymph work from her.
It’s so fun going to receive from several different practitioners cause everyone is so different and hones in on different issues. This third session really tipped me over the edge on all my “heavy” feelings. I haven’t had fluid build up in my legs since and I noticed my digestion got so much better and my tummy is flatter!
The following week I was lucky enough to jump on Tai’s schedule when she had a last min cancelation. I wish I could tell you more about my experience but the truth is, I fell asleep on her table. Hard.
I couldn’t stay awake for the life of me. I was so relaxed. How’s this for VIP status: because we had an extra room open, she let me lay there and sleep on the table after she was done. I’m not typically a big napper but I was in another world. Tai has a very different technique than the rest of us. It’s difficult to describe but you can feel how effective it is while you’re experiencing it. Her technique is so dialed in and you can tell she’s done it a thousand times.
Okay, time to get personal: So around this time in my cycle, I would have been experiencing unbearable pain during ovulation. I have a rare condition called Mittelschmerz where I can feel the egg passing during ovulation. It feels like an ice pick stabbing me over and over and lasts for about 28 hours every month. But this month, while I could defiantly still feel this occuring, It didn’t hurt like it had been hurting the last several months. I was able to go about my day!!
My overall health and wellness have seen a significant boost thanks to these lymphatic drainage sessions. I can’t stress enough how much better I feel. Not only has the swelling in my legs disappeared, but my energy levels have skyrocketed. I no longer feel tired all the time, and my brain fog has lifted, making it easier for me to focus and be productive throughout the day. Even my skin looks more radiant and my eyes clearer, reflecting the internal improvements my body has experienced.
What’s more, my cycles have become less painful and more manageable. This is a huge relief, considering the discomfort I used to experience. My headaches, which had become a regular nuisance, have also subsided significantly. It’s incredible how these sessions have addressed so many of my health concerns, proving just how interconnected our lymphatic system is with overall wellness.
Each session brought unique benefits, tailored by the skilled hands of different practitioners. Kate, my first session therapist, immediately relieved the swelling in my legs and addressed inflammation around my joints. My second session, with a talented new student, further enhanced the positive effects initiated by Kate, leaving me feeling rejuvenated. Carlin’s session focused on my abdomen, arms, and legs, improving my digestion and eradicating that persistent feeling of heaviness. Tai’s session was so relaxing that I fell into a deep, restorative sleep, highlighting the profound relaxation and healing these treatments can provide.
If you’re on the fence about trying lymphatic drainage, I wholeheartedly encourage you to take the leap. The improvements in my energy, mental clarity, and overall physical health have been remarkable. The personalized attention and care from skilled practitioners can address specific issues you might not even be aware of, leading to a comprehensive boost in your well-being.
If you’ve been considering lymphatic drainage, it’s a gentle yet powerful way to support your health, improve your energy levels, and enhance your overall quality of life.
Don’t wait—prioritize your well-being and experience the benefits for yourself.
